STEAM Workshop: Spooky Science!

Get ready to explore the strange, surprising, and spectacular side of science during the official kickoff to Screech Week at the REACH!

Families will investigate glowing reactions, unusual animal adaptations, mysterious materials, curious creatures, and other weird and wonderful phenomena that make the natural world extraordinary. Through hands-on experiments and interactive challenges, participants will discover the real science behind things that may initially appear eerie, unexplained, or even a little spooky.

This family-friendly workshop shows that science can be every bit as fascinating as a spooky story—without relying on tricks or make-believe. Participants will practice observing, experimenting, testing ideas, and uncovering the scientific explanations behind unexpected results.

Spooky Science! launches Screech Week, a week of seasonal discovery at the REACH Museum. The celebration continues with Little Explorers: Hooray for Bats! on Thursday, October 22, and culminates with Screech at the REACH on Friday, October 23, from 5:30–8:00 p.m. Special members-only access begins at 5:30 p.m., with general admission beginning at 6:00 p.m.
