Classroom Visits Form

REACH Museum educators bring interactive education programs to classrooms, camps, clubs, and childcare centers throughout the Tri-Cities region, including standards-based lessons in geology, ecosystem ecology, Hanford history, and more. Presentations for all ages are available.

Program price is $100 per one-hour program for one group (up to 30 students), $75 per class for multiple consecutive hours.

Please note that schools outside of the Tri-Cities area of Richland, Kennewick, Pasco and West Richland may be charged additional fees for mileage and travel time.

ROCK CYCLE – Model earth processes with play-dough and compare to local specimens of sedimentary, metamorphic, and igneous rocks. Recommended for grades 2 through 4.

READING THE ROCKS – Investigate local rocks and fossils to understand their formation in the amazing geologic history of the Pacific Northwest. Recommended for grades 4 through 8.

WILDLIFE OF THE HANDFORD REACH – Investigate skulls, pelts, and more to understand the adaptations of local animals and food web connections. Recommended for grades 3 through 8.

LEWIS & CLARK ON THE COLUMBIA – Investigate artifacts and journal entries to understand the experiences of the explorers and the native peoples they encountered on the Columbia River. Recommended for grades 4 through 7.

CRAYFISH STUDY – Engage in scientific illustration to learn about crayfish anatomy, the crayfish’s role in the freshwater ecosystem, and the effects of invasive species. Recommended for grades 3 through 12.

HANDFORD'S CULTURAL ARTIFACTS - Investigate artifacts to learn about the culture and science of Hanford during WWII and the Cold War. Recommended for grades 5 through 12.
