Reach Foundation Appoints Three New Board Members to Strengthen Science and Education Mission

RRICHLAND, Wash. — The Reach Foundation has appointed Jennifer Lee, Bob Schuetz and Wendy Shaw to its board of directors, strengthening the foundation’s leadership with deep expertise in science, energy, research and public service.

The appointments reflect the foundation’s continued focus on long-term sustainability, strong governance and advancing educational impact through its support of the REACH Museum.

“Jennifer, Bob, and Wendy each bring exceptional leadership experience and a shared commitment to science, education and public service,” said Dan Boyd, president of the Reach Foundation board. “Together, their perspectives will help guide the Foundation as we support the REACH Museum’s role to help the community better understand science, energy and the forces that shape our region.”

Jennifer Lee is the director of business development and product management at Adaptive Biotechnologies and brings extensive experience at the intersection of scientific research and commercialization for public benefit. She has held leadership roles in technology transfer and business development across national laboratories and the biotechnology sector, including work at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and the California Institute of Technology. Lee is based in the Tri-Cities and has long been involved in local education and youth programs, with a focus on science engagement and community learning.

Bob Schuetz is the chief executive officer of Energy Northwest and has led complex, highly regulated energy organizations focused on reliability, safety and public accountability. His career includes decades of leadership in nuclear engineering, clean energy systems and large-scale operations serving the Pacific Northwest. Schuetz brings deep experience in governance, workforce leadership and long-term infrastructure planning to the foundation’s board.

Wendy Shaw is an associate laboratory director for physical and computational sciences at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, managed by Battelle, where she oversees large research portfolios and complex scientific organizations. Her experience includes managing multimillion-dollar budgets, building strategic partnerships, and supporting STEM education and workforce development initiatives. Shaw brings a strong understanding of the region’s scientific heritage and a commitment to expanding access to science education for students and the broader community.

Together, Lee, Schuetz and Shaw bring complementary strengths that support the Reach Foundation’s mission to expand science education, deepen community engagement, and ensure long-term access to learning through the REACH Museum.
