On view April 11 through May 30, 2026

A Community Story Told Through Student Art

What shapes who we become—and where do those stories begin?

Nuestras Raíces, Our Roots brings together 76 works of art from students across 16 schools in the Tri-Cities region, from elementary through university. Each piece reflects identity—family, culture, place, and personal experience—expressed through painting, sculpture, collage, and mixed media.

This is more than a student exhibit. It’s a visual narrative of a community.

Inspired by the idea of “roots,” students explored what anchors them—what connects them to their past, their environment, and something larger than themselves. Many works reflect Latin American heritage, alongside a broader range of cultural and personal perspectives that shape the region today.

The result is vibrant, honest, and deeply human.

These artworks represent not only individual stories, but a collective one—how identity forms, evolves, and connects us to each other.

Developed in collaboration with Educational Service District 123’s 21st Century Program and the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), Tri-Cities Council, this exhibit highlights the voices of young artists and the power of creative expression as a way of understanding who we are—and where we’re going.
