Owl About It (Grades 1–5)

Date & Time: Tuesday, October 28, 10:30 AM–12:00 PM
Price: $20 non‑member | $15 REACH member

Overview: This elementary science class explores the special role owls play in our ecosystem. Students will examine owl pellets to learn about diet, investigate adaptations of birds of prey, and identify species of owls they may encounter in the Mid‑Columbia region.

What students gain

  • Hands‑on inquiry with owl pellet dissection

  • Food webs & predator‑prey relationships

  • Identification of local owl species & key adaptations

Good to know

  • Designed for elementary learners (grades 1–5)

  • Gloves and tools provided; pellets are heat‑treated classroom specimens

Skull Study (Grades 6–12)

Date & Time: Monday, October 27, 1:00–3:00 PM
Price: $25 non‑member | $20 REACH member

Overview: Students will engage in scientific drawing and explore our collection of skulls to uncover secrets of animals’ keen senses and specialized anatomy. They’ll learn about nocturnal animal adaptations while making an edible model of an eyeball.

What students gain
