The Tri-Cities’ signature Halloween experience returns.

Explore the creatures of the night, discover how animals survive after dark, and experience the mystery of the Hanford Reach region in a whole new way. This is where nature, science, and Halloween come together.

What Is Screech Week?

Screech Week is a REACH Museum tradition that connects Halloween with real science and the natural world around us.

Instead of sugar-fueled chaos, we focus on:

  • Curiosity over candy
  • Discovery over distraction
  • Real-world science tied to our region

From nocturnal animals to the unique landscape of the Columbia Basin, Screech Week helps kids (and adults) see the “spooky” side of nature in a whole new way.

Designed for Curious Kids & Families

Whether you’re raising a future scientist or just looking for something different to do in October, Screech Week delivers:

  • Hands-on, engaging learning experiences
  • Age-appropriate activities for elementary-aged kids
  • A safe, welcoming environment for families
  • A uniquely local take on Halloween

Plan Ahead

Mark your calendar and stay tuned—full event details, activities, and admission information will be released soon.

Why It Matters

At the REACH Museum, everything we do is rooted in place.

Screech Week connects Halloween to the real stories of the Mid-Columbia—its wildlife, its landscape, and the science that shapes it all.

Because the more you understand the world around you… the less scary it becomes—and the more fascinating it is.
