The Tri-City Model Railroaders are the only model railroad group serving the Mid-Columbia region. Their earliest member activities date back to the late 1960‘s. It was incorporated as a non-profit organization in 1972. Two founding members are still active in the organization today.
They have developed several layouts (the longest-established one formerly located along the Columbia River at the site of the current Lewis and Clark Overlook in the City of Richland). The Railroaders continue to maintain a popular modular layout (completed in 1990; size: 20’ x 28’) that has been displayed and operated at various events including the Toppenish Western Art and Railroad Show, annual Richland Community Show, local antique and TRAC shows, and the Benton County Fair. It will now be on display at the REACH for a limited time only!
