SUMMARY:10th Anniversary Free Day
DESCRIPTION:STEM in Action – All ages can meet the crayfish and learn about invasive species research through The River Mile Crayfish Study with REACH Museum’s Education team 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. From 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. learn about “Keeping Nuclear Energy Safe” with PNNL STEM Ambassador Shannon Goodwin. This is a chance for middle schoolers to adults to meet a STEM professional from our community and explore how their work in nuclear safety is making a positive impact on the world.\nCelebrate the REACH Museum’s Tenth Anniversary with free admission all day long for local residents!  Come explore the museum and enjoy fun activities.\nAdditional Event Info:\nKeeping Nuclear Energy Safe | STEM Ambassador Shannon Goodwin from 2 PM – 4 PM on July 30th \n\nDESCRIPTION: PNNL scientists and engineers use physics and chemistry to promote peaceful and safe uses of nuclear technology while developing ways to detect and deter the non-peaceful applications of the same technology. Nuclear energy has proven to be a reliable and efficient source of electricity and provides additional benefits to the medical, scientific, and environmental communities. As nuclear energy becomes more popular around the world, it could be misused to develop nuclear weapons. The United States strives to reduce the total amount of nuclear weapons. We need future scientists and engineers to ensure that nuclear technology remains purely peaceful for a cleaner and safer tomorrow.\n\n \nThank you to all our free admission day sponsors!\n\n
